A crucial issue for all e-commerce sites and DNVBs (aka 100% digitalized companies)! Activation is the 2nd step in the AARRR framework, and the one that needs to be optimized first and foremost. It enables you to convert one-day visitors into activated customers, who can then be addressed through various marketing channels.
Before generating revenue, we often go through this preliminary step: collecting customer data. This first level of activation maximizes the conversion of Internet users, whether they visit your site or your Instagram account.
As a DNVB, the site is the first (and often only) point of contact with potential customers. With Hey Pongo, Le Deal Ultime has found the tools to capitalize on its traffic, convert many more visitors and generate additional sales on a daily basis, effortlessly.
Le Deal Ultime is a subscription service that is revolutionizing the way people dine out. Its main offer brings together 80 fixed deals that reduce the bill by an average of 50% in as many Parisian restaurants. These are complemented by 3 ephemeral deals every week.
In terms of acquisition, Deal Ultime receives 600 to 1,000 visits a day to its website. This makes conversion all the more important. Every action that slightly increases the conversion rate translates into a big jump in sales.
Another lever: the Instagram account linked to the site, Le Guide Ultime, has almost 600,000 followers. Its subscribers receive regular recommendations on the best food and dining options in Paris.
Like many DNVBs, visitor and subscriber data were in the blind spot. Beyond Google Analytics statistics, the Ultimate Deal had very little data that could be activated for conversions or follow-ups.
Le Deal Ultime has deployed the Booster, provided by Hey Pongo, on the home page of its site. The game takes the form of a wheel of customizable gifts, with progressive rewards (up to a lifetime subscription). To spin the wheel, you need to leave your phone number, e-mail address and first name. Around 10% of site visitors play every day, averaging 60 entries (and as many new additions to the customer database). Through promotional rewards, the Booster also generates an average of €200 in sales per day.
Starting with a large Instagram audience, the challenge is to enrich a database of prospects that can be more easily converted into active customers. In its Instagram story, the Ultimate Deal featured a link to the Booster. Within 24 hours, no fewer than 8,000 people participated in the operation, adding as many new recruits to its customer base. The operation generated over €2,400 in sales in 24 hours.
Another use for Hey Pongo's booster: it has enabled Deal Ultime to activate its dormant customers. To do this, it automatically sends an email with the Booster to all site members who haven't purchased anything after 24 hours. Every day, an average of 30 people leave their telephone number in the customer database.
Thanks to Hey Pongo tools, Deal Ultime has over 18,000 telephone numbers in its customer base. It can then be regularly activated by SMS marketing actions, to offer promotions or present new ephemeral deals.
